Eagles post 67-62 comeback win

Neil Watson and Daveon Boardingham each scored 15 points as the Eagles rallied from a half time deficit to claim a 67-62 win over Houston Baptist in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Mobile, Ala. The win moved Southern Miss to 5-0 on the year and the loss dropped Houston Baptist to 1-4.

Michael Craig scored eight points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Eagles and true freshman Matt Bingaya came off the bench to contribute nine points. Aaron Brown who has been one of the Eagles most consistent offensive threats was held scoreless in 26 minutes of play.

Houston Baptist was led by two key reserves, Rob Lewis scored 15 and Dauson Womack totalled 12 points. Ricmonds Vilde, a transfer from SMU, pulled down a game high 12 rebounds for the Huskies.

Southern Miss returns to action on Sunday at 2:00 PM when they take on William Carey University at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg.
