Balentine and Law selected for Casino Del Sol Game

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss football players, wide receiver Ryan Balentine and defensive lineman Cordarro Law, have been invited to play in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game set for Mon., Jan., 16, at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
The game time is set for 8 p.m., CT, and can be seen on these Fox Sports regional networks - Sportsouth, FS Arizona, FS Southwest PLUS and FS Houston PLUS.

The pair of players will both play on the East squad and will be coached by former Arkansas and Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt. Joining the Golden Eagles on the East roster from Conference USA schools are quarterback G.J. Kinne and offensive lineman Tyler Holmes of Tulsa, along with deep snapper Bradley Jacobs of East Carolina. Rice running back Tyler Smith and defensive back Chris Jammer will play for the West squad.
Balentine, of Killeen, Texas, finished his three-year career with the Golden Eagles with 65 catches for 883 yards and eight touchdowns. All of his touchdowns came this year as he led the team in receiving scores. Balentine led the squad this season with 742 receiving yards and was second on the club in catches with 49.
Law ended his career by earning the Most Valuable Player honors for the Golden Eagles in the Hawai'i Bowl. The Whifield, Ala., native finished his career ranked first in forced fumbles with 14, tied for second in quarterback sacks with 28 along with Michael Boley (2001-04) and ranked fifth in tackles for loss with 53.5 over 53 career games.
Law and Balentine join quarterback Austin Davis and offensive lineman Lamar Holmes to make postseason all-star games. Davis and Holmes are set to play in the East-West Shrine Game set for Jan. 21, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Game time is 3 p.m., and will be telecast on the NFL Network.
