Brown and Gray sign free agent contracts

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss football players Anthony Gray and DeAndre Brown have signed rookie free agent contracts by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively, in an announcement by the clubs on Tuesday morning.
Gray, a four-year letterwinner for the Golden Eagles on the defensive line, amassed 120 career tackles which included 23.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. He added three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and broke up two passes during his career.

The Philadelphia, Miss., native, earned second team All-Conference USA honors twice during his career including following his senior campaign. Gray is one of 15 undrafted free agents signed by the Steelers Tuesday.
Brown, who left the program after his junior season, collected 2,207 receiving yards on 134 catches over his three seasons with the Golden Eagles with 24 touchdown grabs. He finished his Southern Miss career ranked No. 5 at the school in catches, No. 3 in receiving yards and second in touchdown receptions despite playing in just 21 games during his three-year career.
From Ocean Springs, Miss., Brown garnered All Conference USA honors twice, including a first-team selection as a freshman. He also went on to collect Freshman All-America honors that year as well. Brown was one of nine players to agree to terms for the Eagles Tuesday morning.
Training camp opens for the Eagles on July 27 and for the Steelers on July 28.
