HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss junior wide receiver DeAndre Brown has been named as one of 51 players to be chosen to the 2010 Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
Brown, of Ocean Springs, Miss., is poised to break into several different Southern Miss record categories as he has collected 114 catches for 1,902 yards and 21 touchdowns over his first two seasons with the Golden Eagles. In 2009, he recovered from a broken leg the previous December to catch 47 passes for 785 yards and nine touchdowns, including a 95-yard scoring strike versus Tulsa.
The award is named for Fred Biletnikoff, the Florida State University All-America receiver and Pro Football Hall of Famer. The award has been given out since 1994. Last year's winner was Golden Tate of Notre Dame.
The winner of the 17th Biletnikoff Award will be announced as part of ESPN's College Football Awards Show on Thursday, December 9. The award will be officially presented to the winner at the annual Biletnikoff Award dinner, hosted by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club, on Saturday, February 11, 2011.
