Davis talks So Miss offer

This past week Southern Miss became one of the latest programs to offer Deerfield Beach (FL) High standout Daewood Davis. The talented 6-foot-1, 165-pounder is rated a 3-star prospect by Rival.com.

On Sunday afternoon Davis talked with BigGoldNation.com about his offer from the Eagles and recruiting in general.

"I picked up my Southern Miss offer this past week from Coach Tony Pecoraro," he said.

Davis acknowledged that he is currently committed to FAU, but holds offers from more than a dozen programs across the country.

With Davis being committed to FAU is there really any reason for programs like Southern Miss to continue pursuing his services?

We posed that question to Davis directly and here's what he had to say.

"No my recruitment is still open," Davis said. "I'm waiting till after summer to release my Top 10."

This should come as no real surprise as Davis has previously had second thoughts on earlier commitments.

In June of 2015 he was 99.99% sure he was going to commit to Miami (FL), then days later committed to Syracuse.

A few weeks ago he switch his commitment to the hometown Owls.

"I'm just looking for a program that fits me best," Davis told BGN.

There is a ton of uncertainty surrounding Davis' recruitment, but one thing is without doubt. Davis is an incredibly talented player who could be a solid addition to most any program and a true game changer for others.

Are the Eagles really in play for Davis? Only time will tell.
