Eagles and Rebs meet in Biloxi
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss will be playing its third straight neutral site game when the Golden Eagles face in-state rival Ole Miss, Tuesday night, at 7 p.m. in Biloxi at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum. The game will be televised by CSS.
Southern Miss and Ole Miss will meet for the second straight year and the 21st time, with the Rebels holding a 16-4 record all-time. Ole Miss holds a 5-1 advantage in games played on a neutral court. Last year, Ole Miss defeated Southern Miss, 78-58, in Southaven.

Southern Miss enters the game with Ole Miss with an 8-4 record. The Golden Eagles are looking for their fifth straight win after going 2-0 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic.
The Golden Eagles will be playing their seventh neutral site game of the year. Southern Miss is 4-2 in neutral site games, having gone 2-1 at the Paradise Jam before falling to Kansas State in Kansas City. Last week, the Golden Eagles went 2-0 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic.
Junior Jeremy Wise is sixth in the conference with 18.4 points per game, while also bringing down 4.0 rebounds. Senior Courtney Beasley is averaging 12.7 points and grabbing a team-high 6.2 rebounds, while sophomore R.L. Horton is adding 11.9 points.
The Golden Eagles are averaging 67.5 points per game, while allowing 59.9. Southern Miss is hitting 75.4-percent of their free throws, which is first in Conference USA, and grabbing 36.8 rebounds.
Ole Miss enters the game with an 8-4 record. Junior David Huertas leads the Rebels with 20.4 points while bringing down 4.9 rebounds. Sophomore guard Chris Warren averages 19.6 points. However, Warren is out for the season after tearing his ACL against Louisville. Freshman Murphy Holloway leads the team with 5.9 rebounds.
As a team, Ole Miss is shooting 44.1-percent while holding its opponents to 43.5-percent. The Rebels are scoring 77.4 points per game, and are hitting 78.3-percent of their free throws.
Head Coach Andy Kennedy is in his third season at the helm of the Ole Miss men's basketball program. He has compiled a 53-28 (.654) record during his tenure as head coach. Kennedy has a 74-41 (.643) overall record in four seasons as a head coach.
The Golden Eagles will then have a week off before opening conference play Wednesday, January 7, against Tulsa at Reed Green Coliseum.
