Eagles sign JUCO linemen

Southern Miss football coach Todd Monken announced Wednesday the signing of two Hinds Community College offensive linemen for the 2014 season, including Thomas Collins (Jackson, Miss.) and Norman Price (Vicksburg, Miss.).
"I am really excited about signing a pair of offensive linemen," Monken stated. "They will help add size and depth to our offensive line. They are big. They are physical. They are great guys both on and off the field."

The duo led the Bulldogs to a 7-3 record and a berth in the Brazos Valley Bowl this fall. Hinds totaled 421.6 yards per game average which was good for No. 16 nationally in the NJCAA, while the Bulldogs also finished No. 11 in the nation in rushing yards with 2,337.
Collins, at 6-foot-4, 320 lbs., prepped at Forest Hills High School and earned second team all-state honors by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College Coaches (MACJC).
Price, at 6-foot-5, 315 lbs., earned both first-team All-Region 23 and All-State honors by the MACJC. He attended Vicksburg High School before heading to Hinds Community College.
