Fletcher suspended for spring practice

Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora announced today that All-American running back Damion Fletcher has been suspended from taking part in spring drills.
Fletcher was arrested at his 38th Avenue apartment on February 15th and charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Fletcher entered a not guilty plea during his initial court appearance in Hattiesburg Municipal Court on February 23rd. No date has been set for his trial.
Southern Miss offensive lineman Brennan Houston will also be held out of spring practices. Houston was arrested on the same evening as Fletcher.
He plead no-contest to a possession of marijuana charge. He received a fine and probation.
Fedora didn't go into any details about concerning any additional punishment of either player.
