Top teams from across Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana took part in the 7 on 7 Event and Reddix came away impressed.

"It was great," he said. "There was competition all over the place."

St. Martin impressed as well finishing as the Runner-Up in the event falling just an extra point short of forcing OT in the Championship Game.

"We did great," he said. "Just didn't pull off the extra point to tie the championship game, my QB Wayne Overman was on the money all day long."

It was a long day for the top teams who didn't leave campus until early evening on Saturday.

During some of the down time Reddix had a chance to spend some time with members of the Southern Miss coaching staff.

"I talked to Coach Hopson and Coach Lindsey," he said. "Went good, everyone is on good terms, no negatives."

Reddix was an early commitment to Southern Miss, a few weeks ago he opened his recruitment.

Many wonder what that means for Southern Miss? When asked if Southern Miss is still in the mix, he had this to say.

"Yes for sure, they are still one of my top schools," he said.

One of the reasons could be a tight relationship with Southern Miss tight-ends coach Desmond Lindsey.

"We talk almost three or four times a week," Reddix said. "He's a good guy inside and outside of football. We always stay in touch an talk about life first then football."
