Southern Miss and Tulane to renew football rivalry

HATTIESBURG, Miss.– Southern Miss and Tulane announced Thursday that the two schools have agreed to renew their football rivalry with a four-game series beginning with the 2022 football season.

The schools are playing a pair of home-and-home series starting at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans on Sept. 12, 2022, with the two teams then facing off in Hattiesburg for a Sept. 16, 2023, date at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

After a two-year break, the schools then return to action with a Sept. 26, 2026 game in New Orleans and finish the four-game series, Sept. 11, 2027, in Hattiesburg.The two schools began during the 1979 season and have met 30 times in football with the Golden Eagles holding a 23-7 advantage.
