Southern Miss offers Brookhaven lineman

Southern Miss became the latest program to extend an offer to Brookhaven (MS) High defensive tackle Jeffery Johnson. Johnson is a talented 6-foot-3, 315-pounder who has seen his stock roar in recent weeks.

He talks recruiting with BigGoldNation.com.

Johnson confirmed his offer from Southern Miss in addition to offers from Florida State, Mississippi and Miss State.

"It's all been so exciting," Johnson said of the recent surge of offers.

When asked what it means to have quality offers this early in the process he had this to say.

"It means a lot for me and my family knowing that won't be a struggle to pay for college," he said.

Southern Miss defensive line coach Derek Nicholson is recruiting Johnson for the Eagles.

Expect Johnson to be on campus on April 1st for the Southern Miss Code Black 18 Junior Day Event.
