Bolden leads Eagles to 78-62 win

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Senior guard Maurice Bolden scored 17 points and Jonathan Mills had 16 as Southern Mississippi defeated Louisiana Tech 78-62 in a nonconference game Saturday night.
Bolden scored the first five points for the Golden Eagles (7-2) and had 10 in the first half, in which Southern Mississippi shot 51.6 percent (16 of 31) and took a 42-29 lead into intermission.

In the second half, Southern Mississippi led by as many as 21 points and by double digits for all but 33 seconds.
Angelo Johnson added 13 points and Torye Pelham had 10 for Southern Mississippi, which finished the game shooting 50.9 percent (29 of 57) to 38.2 percent (21 of 55) for the Bulldogs (4-5).
Bolden had seven rebounds and also blocked four shots.
Trevor Gaskins scored 15 points to lead Louisiana Tech, which also got 11 points from Cordarius Johnson and 10 from Lonnie Smith.
