Date: Feb 4-5

Location: New Orleans LA, Biloxi MS,

On February 4, 2017 the Coast Line Stars, one of the newest 7-on-7 teams in the Southeast Region held tryouts looking for some of the top talent all across the Gulf Coast Line.

The New Orleans Tryout was held at Berhman Park. This tryout was full of talent from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

One of the standouts was QB Chance Newman of Daphne AL, Chance threw the ball very well, showing that he can make every throw on the field. Chance has no offers but is looking to impress some schools this off-season.

Three other standouts were DB Tywan Francis of Landry Walker who has a offer from the LSU Tigers.

Jonovan Jackson of George County MS, Jonovan showed great vertical speed and great hands with his 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame. He has great upside only being a freshman.

Johnny Anderson of Landry Walker High School was another WR standout that stood out in 1 on 1’s and served his nickname Mr. 88 very well.

The Biloxi, MS Tryout had a lot of talent from The Pine Belt to the Gulf Coast.

One athlete that had a great day was the Defensive Back from Oak Grove High School Jarius Reimonenq. Jarius pulled down three interceptions in 7-on-7 at the nickel position. He showed great instinct and ball skills. Jarius is a true box safety.

Another standout was Biloxi DB, Jemaurian Jones who is taking every camp he attends by storm. His 6’1 frame as a cornerback allowed him to make plays on the ball that most high school players can’t make. He is standing at 5 offers, waiting on his first power offer and I have a feeling he will not be waiting long.

The standout for the WR position was Laurel’s Juan Nelson who had the catch of the day with an acrobatic catch on a ball that was thrown behind him.

The eye catcher of the tryout was Oak Grove’s Kevin Barnett with his 6-foot-4 185 frame his upside is amazing. He will be a big time player for Oak Grove for the next 2 years.
