Golden Eagles Put Polish on South Carolina Game Plan

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team put the finishing touches on its game plan for the season opener against South Carolina here Monday afternoon at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium.
It was a typical Thursday practice during a normal game week for the Golden Eagles according to Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora as it was the typical day to put the final touches on the week's plan for the contest.

"It was a good polish day," Fedora said. "Everything is in (the game plan) and if they do not know it now they aren't going to know it. "
The Golden Eagles will go through a light workout Tuesday afternoon, before traveling to Columbia, S.C., late Wednesday afternoon for the season opener at Williams-Brice Stadium on Thur., Sept. 2. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, and can be heard on the Southern Miss ISP Sports Network as well as seen nationally on ESPN.
In other news of the day, Golden Eagle DeAndre Brown, was recognized nationally by Kirk Herbstreit of ESPN, in his 10th annual Herbie Awards. Brown was selected as the No. 4 "Catch a Rising Star: Top Wide Receivers" behind A.J. Green of Georgia, Ryan Broyles of Oklahoma and Jon Baldwin of Pittsburgh.
Brown also garnered a wide receiver nod for the "All-Uni Team" What a College Team Should Look Like."
