On Thursday Heath Hinton was introduced as Managing Editor of BigGoldNation.com. Hinton takes over day-to-day operations of BigGoldNation.com from Publisher Lanny Mixon who will be taking a less visible role.

Hinton is a native of Laurel, MS. He is a graduate of West Jones High School, Jones Junior College and The University of Southern Mississippi.

Many Southern Miss fans are already familiar with Hinton's work in sports media.

In addition to serving as the Sports Director for TheScore1400 WFOR-AM he is the host of the PineBeltSportsDrive, the No. 1 Daily Sports Talk radio program in the market.

"Heath Hinton is a sports media professional who Southern MIss fans already know and love from his work on the radio." Mixon said. "His passion for sports shows through in everything he does and I could not be happier to welcome him to the team."

Hinton will head up team cover for Southern Miss and coordinate the coverage of Southern Miss recruiting.
