Knights run past Eagles 73-61

ORLANDO, Fla. - Jermaine Taylor scored 19 of his 31 points in the second half as Central Florida pulled away to a 73-61 victory over Southern Mississippi on Wednesday night.
Taylor hit six of his first seven shots from the floor in the second half as the Knights (12-6, 2-2 Conference USA) raced to a 54-40 advantage.

The Golden Eagles (11-6, 2-2) went on a 7-0 run in the next 3:15 to cut Central Florida's lead to 54-47, but that was as close as they would come. The Knights shot 63 percent from the floor in the second half (15 of 24).
Kenrick Zondervan finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for Central Florida. Taylor Young added nine assists.
Craig Craft led Southern Miss with 20 points. Courtney Beasley finished with 19 points and Jeremy Wise added 13.
The Knights led for all but 6 seconds in the first 20 minutes, taking a 37-26 halftime lead.
